In advance of an oil summit meeting this weekend, British prime minister Gordon Brown said this morning:
"He hoped to use this
weekend's high-level summit on oil in Jeddah to persuade OPEC countries such as
Saudi Arabia to invest in renewable energy development in the UK. The Government
has set ambitious targets to increase renewable energy supply by 700%."
The target is admirable. But what exactly does Mr. Brown think Saudi Arabia has to gain from investing in UK wind farms and solar and wind energy alternatives?
