Socialbakers recent study of 1,100 Instagram profiles finds that companies may not be taking best advantage of Instagram 'Stories'. Although current 'Stories' impression numbers are much lower than for company posts, 'Stories' reach is "purely organic - which is becoming harder and harder to achieve.
Video creators are getting more support from YouTube by way of an updated YouTube Studio — the place creators use to upload videos, manage their channels, and grow their communities. YouTube believes the "most anticipated features include three new metrics that will give you better understanding of how your videos perform, and an all new Dashboard that shows you personalized news and information for your channel."
Always wanted one of those blue 'verified' account checkmarks as a symbol of your status as a Twitter superstar (at least in your own mind)? Well, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has confirmed that the checkmarks may soon be available for all users. They were meant to help users "distinguish between the real and parody Twitter accounts of high profile celebrities", but they came to mean something more for anyone boasting one — credibility and status — " and that is something of "a problem" says Twitter product director David Gasca .
TechCrunch's Josh Constine is reporting that Snapchat is burgling a feature from Instagram this time: It's testing letting people @-tag someone in their Story, "creating a swipe up 'more' option that shows the tagged person’s name, handle, Bitmoji, and an Add button so you can follow them too. The feature could let friends call each other out in Stories, or promote their favorite influencers by making it easy for people to follow them."
Napier Lopez of TNW and his colleagues have been plumbing Instagram's code to see what might be next for the mighty photo and video sharing app. His 'discoveries' include a possible universal portrait mode, the ability to post cinemagraphs (a still photo with animation), functionality to allow ‘starring’ a chat ("which marks it as a favorite and/or makes it easier to find"), and the facility to "download all user data from Instagram's servers."
It's a small change, but Facebook has let advertisers know that they now see an "updated Ads Manager interface where they previously found Ads Manager or Power Editor. Facebook says that most of the preferred features of Ads Manager and Power Editor are preserved in the new integrated tool . . . begging the question of why the merger other than to smooth workflows (which may be reason enough if you are managing a complex Facebook ad program.
