Agency Frustration

Let's be honest, most consultants have felt it at one time or another . . . the frustration of having your counsel questioned in a way that evidences a lack of respect for your experience and expertise.

It seldom happens with lawyers, accountants, physicians and probably management consultants with McKinsey and Company; but often with communications consultants, web designers, advertising copywriters and creative directors.

So, thanks to Dave Fleet for pointing to a little lighthearted push back (especially the penultimate sentence) at Agency Smackdown.

I hope that I didn't frustrate my consultanst too much although I did have a vision I wanted for myself. I appreciate the frustration element but maybe when someone is commissioned to design, it has to be a collaborative effort. I'm not certain.

I did go to the hairdresser recently and they cut my hair the way they thought I should look - I won't be going back.

Collaboration is usually what consultants are looking for . . . although respect is a good place to start. Thanks for your comment, and I too have experienced the creative haircut.
